Rava Idli Recipe - (Makes 5) Cooking time - 8 min
1 tbsp oil
1-2 green chillies (chopped finely)
1 cup semolina (suji)
2 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves
½ tsp soda-bicarb
1 cup curd
¼ cup coconut (grated)
½ cup water
¾ tsp salt
- In a dish add oil. Micro high uncovered for 2 minutes.
- Add chillies. Micro high uncovered for 1 minute.
- Add semolina. Mix well. Micro high uncovered for 1 minute.
- Add coriander leaves and salt. Mix well and allow to cool.
- Add coconut, curd, water and soda-bicarb. Keep aside for 10 minutes.
- Grease the glass bowls. Pour 2-3 tbsp mixture into each bowl.
- Arrange in a ring in the microwave. Micro high uncovered for 4 minutes.
- Let stand for 5 minutes. Serve hot with coconut chutney.
Tip - Use small microproof glass bowls (katoris) to make the idlis in the microwave or microsafe muffin trays One idli takes 1 minute for cooking. So cooking time increases as per the number of idlis. To reheat idlis, Micro high for 1 minute. Ordinary idlis of rice-dal mixture can also be made similarly in a microwave.
